Year 10 Combined tier mock - 14th May
On the 14th of May the year 10 students will be sitting a physics mock paper that will be at foundation and higher tier levels to allow us to assess which tier would be the most appropriate for each individual student.
It is really important students take this mock seriously and revise for it to ensure this is a true reflection of their abilities. |
Year 10 Combined tier physics mock paper topics
Energy calculations - How to calculate the amount of gravitational potential energy, kinetic energy and the efficiency of transfers
Power and Efficiency - When energy is transferred, how quickly does this happen and how efficient is it?
Energy resources - How are different resources used to generate electricity?
Mains electricity - How does electrical energy get to our homes through the national grid? What safety features are designed to protect us?
Electrical circuits - How do you calculate resistance in circuits?Revise the required practical for resistors in circuits and resistance of a wire.
Particle model of matter - How are particles arranged and move in solids, liquids and gases? What happens when change state?
Specific heat capacity - How much energy is needed to heat up objects? How is this calculated?
Radioactivity - What are the different types of nuclear radiation? What is half life?
